Tap to explore a project

RevEng

The aim of the second Materials & Manufacturing coursework was to:

• Apply materials and manufacturing knowledge

• To be familiar with the CES EduPak Eco Audit tool and combine this with our previous work on exploring the material space with Ashby plots

• To be able to perform a product teardown

• To be able to generate a bill of materials of a product

• To be able to calculate the embodied energy and CO2 footprint of a product, and identify critical factors

• To be able to reverse engineer the product to retain the original functionality but with a new design objective whilst maintaining a critical consideration of the sustainability
