In 2019, I took part in the Cyber Discovery program again for another year with the additional content that had been added including Forensics. This year the Elite stage was different in that we were receiving professional Cyber Security training from SANS. The course lasted an entire week and was hosted at Westminster University.
We sat the SANS FOR500 course in Windows Forensics which covered the different techniques forensic analysts can use to track malicious actors actions and use the correct terminology when producing final reports.
Our team won the final forensics challenge were we had to track down how an event had unfolded using digital tools to extract from an image of a computer. This led to me being given a SANS 'lethal forensicator' coin and being listed on the hall of fame:
